Retrospect: The department of Hindi, established in   1957, has a glorious academic tradition. This department has succeeded in forming a well disciplined, active and     promising generation with the help of eminent and dedicated teachers. The Hindi MA course began in 1967. It became an approved research centre in 1993. BA Hindi Main and MA Language and literature are offered for study.

Profile: There are 10 teaching members in the faculty. All of them have specialized in various fields of Hindi; three of them hold Ph.D. Degree and two are on deputation for Ph.D. The department offers programmes at (i) Graduate, (ii) Post-Graduate and (iii) Doctoral level. Journalism is one of the subsidiaries at the BA level. The UGC has sanctioned an amount of Rs 1,73,400 as PG   assistance. The department is utilizing the amount for the academic benefit of the teachers and students. The assistance has definitely galvanised the department into progressive and positive activities.The teachers and scholars of the Department have published several research papers in national journals.   Some of our former students occupy very notable positions in academic and administrative fields.Several research projects have been undertaken by the teaching faculty.   The teaching staff members and research scholars regularly participate in national symposia/seminars. The department has been organizing national seminars in which scholars of national repute make their presence felt.We have 87 students at the BA level and 35 students at the PG level. The department has been producing wonderful results at both levels for the past many years.
