NSS Hindu College, Changanacherry, with a long standing tradition in higher education, gives a lot of emphasis to Academic excellence through various Research Programmes. The college has 3 approved research centers in the Hindi, Malayalam and Zoology Departments. The centers have approved research guides and offers full-time and part-time research. The centers have their own areas of specialization and attract research scholars from various colleges and institutions in Kerala. Employees take up part-time research. The centers have been able to produce doctoral degrees through very active research. They have been doing commendable work over the years and have won the acclaim of scholars from far and near. The departments, with assistance from funding agencies, provide all facilities to the scholars in their pursuit for higher knowledge.The teachers of the college are also actively involved in Research work. Two of our teachers are currently Undertaking Post doctoral research. Constant research activity has created a vibrant academic culture in the college which greatly encourages the students to take up serious research work. Research activities are keenly monitored by a Research Cell.The teachers of the college are engaged in numerous research projects with funds from UGC and other agencies. Work is going on at present in 2 major projects and about 15 minor projects. These projects have redefined the priorities of the institution and acts as a catalyst in its endeavor of achieving the status of a "center of excellence".The college creates a lingering academic environment by conducting national and state seminars. The past few years have witnessed a number of seminars which speaks volumes of the academic impetus shown by the college. Almost every department conducts seminars on current topics which are immensely helpful to both teachers and students. The seminars have enabled the inmates of the college to interact with academicians of high repute and keep abreast with modern trends. Many teachers of our college are invited to present papers in seminars organized by colleges in and out of Kerala. We are fortunate in having a very supportive management in our efforts to scale new heights in academics.The PG students are also encouraged to present papers in the seminars which enable them to join the mainstream of research.
