Sanskrit is offered as subsidiary for BA Malayalam and two papers for MA Malayalam are Sanskrit. Efforts are made to popularize Sanskrit among the students through the effective guidance of the two faculty members. Sri K.R.Prabhakaran is a PhD holder in Sanskrit and is working for a PhD in Malayalam. He is currently engaged in a UGC funded research project titled 'Influence of Sanskrit Grammar on Kerala Panineeyam of A.R.Rajaraja Varma'. He has also published a work 'Ouchithya Sidhantham'.He regularly contributes articles to magazines. K.R.Narayanan is also engaged in research work. Samskrithi is an active literary and cultural forum of Sanskrit department. Serious efforts are being made to introduce Sanskrit as a Degree course.
