One Day National Seminar ( Samskrithi)

'Samskrithi' the literary and cultural forum of the Sanskrit department   conducted a one-day national seminar on 21-8-08 in the college seminar hall.The topic  was "Mahakavi Bhasa and  Modern Indian Theatre".Dr.K.R.Prabhakaran(Cordinator) welcomed the gathering and Principal Prof. C.R.Indira presided over the meeting. Dr.N.P.Unni,Former vice-Chancellor,Kalady Sanskrit  University  inaugurated the seminar and released the journal VAIKHARI.  Dr.C.G.Rajendra Babu,Director and Head of the Dept of Malayalam,Madras University  delivered the keynote address. Prof P.Balachandran(School of Letters,M.G.University)  presented the topic "Text and Performance in Modern Theatre".Dr.K.N.Viswanathan Nair reviewed the talk. Dr.B.Ravikumar  proposed the vote of thanks.    In the afternoon session Dr.P.V.Visvanathan Nampoothiri(Basaleus College,Kottayam)  and Dr.N.Vijayamohanan Pillai(Dep of Manuscriptology,Kalady Sanskrit University)  presented papers on Bhasa's works Swapnavasavadattam and Urubhangam. Dr.V.R.Jayasree was the moderator. Prof.K.R.Narayanan  began the afternoon proceedings with a welcome and  the session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ambily.
