Since our institution is in close proximity with Kuttanad, a low lying agricultural zone, the research center focus mainly on the ecological problems of this wetland ecosystem .The future plans of the department includes extension of activities to become a consultancy center in this area. |
MAJOR RESEARCH FACILITIES: | Wet- lab for aquaculture experiments. A well equipped Research lab with Electophoretic apparatus, Electronic balance, Microtome, Soxhlet's extraction apparatus, Photomicrographic equipment, Flame Photometer, Spectrophotometer, Colourimeter, etc. A modern Microbiology Lab, which provides equipments like Inoculation Chamber, Oven, Incubator, Autoclave, Quebec Colony Counter, Refrigerator, Water Bath, Wax Bath, Microscopes etc. A library-cum-reading room with most relevant books and journals.
