The N.S.S. Scheme is in the forefront in making students to will fully contribute to the needs of the society. It tries to uphold and spread valuable ideas which is a spring board to the youth. The N.S.S .Scheme has endeared to many as a worth while task force, engaging in a plethora of activities.
The National Service Scheme of our college has a very brilliant track record. The college has three NSS Units consisting of 100 students in each unit number the guidance of three programme officers .Prof. Anandakuttan of the Department of Commerce, Prof. Jayanti Pillai, Prof.Suresh of the department of Economics are the Present Programme officers of our N.S.S units. Every year we initiate a large number of innovative Programmes. We conduct several regular activities such as seminars, workshops, awareness campaigns, career guidance programmes, forming blood donors forum, institutional adoption, cultural programmes etc, which the volunteers undertake concurrent with their studies. Different Programmes are chalked out with a view to achieve Personality development of the Volunteers through community service, which is the motto of National Service Scheme. During the year 2005-06 we conducted our special camp for ten days at Government L.P .School Paippadu .The remarkable event of the special camp was the construction and donation of a new house to Mr. Janardanan, Sreebhavanan, Nalukodi. The finance required for the house was contributed by the Teachers and students of the college. The house key was donated to the beneficiary at the valedictory function of the special camp by the general secretary of Nair Service Society Sri.P.K. Narayana Panicker, where in the Honorable Minister for Rural Development Sri.C. F. Thomas was also present. This was a notable milestone in the history of our college and this challenge was accepted by our NSS unit successfully. |
